RECENT INFORMATION

 

SPRING 2008  On June 25 New Braintree Matthew Letendre graduated from the 18th MPOA class at Boylston, Massachusetts.  The academy is a 21-week commitment culminating weeks of training in general law, motor vehicle search and seizure, patrol procedures, defensive tactics, and firearms instruction.   

 

Also in June, Officer Richard Rice arrested a known felon after an attempt to flee.  He was held in West Boylston on warrants from Florida.  Officer Rice was assisted by officers from Oakham, Hardwick, and North Brookfield.

 

MARCH 2008 The real meaning of "community"  Officer Susie Mulliken talked with students at the New Braintree Elementary School as part of an ongoing community policing effort.  Officer Mulliken told the students that if any of them needed a bicycle helmet the police department would give them one free.  Students also heard from highway superintendant Richard Ayre, library supervisor Ernestine Whorl, and newly appointed fire chief Dennis Letendre.  A trip is being discussed to the regional police dispatch center at the state police academy in New Braintree.
